The Azaleas typically peak in early July. A walk down the South Boundary Trail to the bridge which crossing the Azalea Trail provides a special place to view nature's garden show. With a little distance, and a little elevation change even on the busiest of weekends one can experience a remarkable peaceful environment
There are many special things to do and see near Wilsonia although recent fire damage may be in evidence.
If you are looking for a quiet stroll. The Indian Basin Campground Interpretive Trail is a lovely walk. The trail is short, paved, and has benches to sit and enjoy the meadow view. Lupine paintbrush, and corn lily were recently in bloom. The signage along the trail tells the history of the area. The views towards Kings Canyon are special.
Directions: Proceed to Princess Campground on State Highway 180. Turn right off the highway at the Campground, and stay on the southernmost road. Turn left (south) at the camp host site near the firewood storage area. This small paved road will lead you to the trailhead. There is a restroom and a couple of picnic tables at the trailhead
